Chair's Welcome

While most of IU emerged from the pandemic some time ago, the Philosophy Department is emerging for a second time in just a few years. After the 2020 lockdown and the period of hybrid life, things were beginning to return to normal when it was announced that the Department had to vacate Sycamore Hall for renovations in summer and fall 2022. Back we went to working from home, Zoom meetings, and online office hours. Our wonderful staff and students saw us through, and it feels like a page is turning as we get settled back into the building.
