Because our undergraduates are trained to do philosophy and not just study it, students in Philosophy courses are engaged in philosophical research from the very beginning. Students who take PHIL-P 300 Philosophical Writing and Methods are trained in philosophical research methods and write an independent philosophical essay. Students in the Honors sequence engage in a year-long independent research experience. Many of our Philosophy students have presented their work at undergraduate research conferences and published in undergraduate research journals.
