The Department of Philosophy has benefited enormously from the generous gifts of many individuals, including department or university alumni, relatives of former faculty members, and benefactors with no particular connection to us other than a shared commitment to the value of public philosophical education at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Alumni & Giving
These gifts help support faculty research, graduate student fellowships and conference travel, graduate and undergraduate awards for academic and instructional excellence, and distinguished lecturers and conferences. Without such generosity, we would not have the impact we have long been recognized for.
We are grateful to receive future gifts of any amount, whether donor-defined or general-fund. All of these funds are administered by the Indiana University Foundation on behalf of the Department of Philosophy. Our highest current priority is to deepen support of our graduate students through summer fellowships, annual stipend “top-off” awards, and the availability of more year-long research fellowships. We also hope to help offset some of the tuition costs of our most promising undergraduate majors.
If you have questions or thoughts about making a donation, please feel free to contact us directly. You may also contact the Office of Advancement in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Sincerely,
Adam Leite
